NATHAN A. JACOBS, PhD
President / Director / Writer
Nathan is the writer-director of the first film on America's religiously unaffiliated, and the first ever North American Orthodox feature film, Becoming Truly Human. He is also writer-director of the college comedy, Killing Poe, starring Matt Bush (The Goldbergs), Osric Chau (Supernatural), Julianna Guill (The Girlfriends Guide to Divorce), Sunkrish Bala (Castle), and Cyrina Fiallo (Good Luck Charlie). Jacobs is slated as director of several films currently in pre-production. He holds advanced degrees in philosophy and religion. Prior to his work in film, he served as a college professor for seven years, most recently in the philosophy department at University of Kentucky.
Vice President / Development Director / Writer
Sarah is a writer, marketer, fundraiser, and photographer. She has experience in both non-profit marketing and financial development as well as for-profit content marketing and sales. Sarah is a member of 5 SEES whose contribution focuses on scriptwriting, financial development, social media marketing and public relations. She holds degrees in English and Art from Asbury University. She is co-authoring scripts for films currently in pre-production at 5 SEES.
Treasurer / Director of Distribution
Joshua is associate producer and art director of Becoming Truly Human, on which he continues to work as a distribution consultant for the Antiochian Archdiocese. He was executive producer of Jacobs’ directorial debut, Killing Poe and is the producer of several films that are currently in pre-production. Joshua comes to us as a veteran of the acclaimed craft beer and bourbon industries where he manages multimillion dollar development projects. He greatly enjoys bringing his professional budget management experience to the world of professional Orthodox film production.
Anastasia is the daughter of Dr. Nathan Jacobs. She has grown up around philosophy, theology, and film. She began working on professional film sets at only thirteen years of age. She served in the art department as set decorator on Becoming Truly Human, and is currently working as a producer’s assistant on several projects in pre-production. She plans to do her film internship with 5 SEES.
Kevin is the owner of Jacobs Studios, which handles graphic design, magazine layouts, and web design. Kevin is an alumnus of Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI, where he studied fine arts painting. He is an accomplished fine arts painter, graphic designer, and web designer. Kevin served as production designer on Killing Poe and again on Becoming Truly Human. He is also a gifted script writer, who co-authored Killing Poe’s award-nominated script, and is co-author of other screenplays currently in pre-production at 5 SEES.
Phil is a Senior Art Director for DaySpring, a subsidiary of Hallmark, and is a volunteer providing graphic design support to 5 SEES. He brings over 30 years of experience in designing and directing every format in DaySpring’s product portfolio, as well as numerous freelance projects ranging from package design and illustration to, more recently, work with Dr. Jacobs on Killing Poe.
Rachel is a volunteer staff member of 5 SEES, assisting with social media and public relations. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Kentucky and attends St. Andrew Antiochian Orthodox Church, where she has been on the Heritage Festival planning committee for five years and serves on the parish charity committee. She is also Assistant Director of the annual Climacus Conference in Louisville, KY. She has a great love for hospitality and nurturing the community through volunteering at the Lexington New Hope homeless center and Habitat for Humanity.
